Here at TEFL Madrid Academy, we have all gone through the process of moving from our hometowns to start a new life and teach English in Spain. Places to visit in Madrid
Madrid, like any other big city, has lots of fantastic places to visit. If you are new to Madrid or unsure on what there is to do why not take a look at some of our favourite places to visit.
Tourist Attractions –
If you are looking for lots of entertainment and energy in your activities, why not check out one of Madrid’s many theme parks or tourist attractions.
Madrid Segway –
If you want to take in some of the beautiful sights around Madrid, but want to add a little bit of fun to your walking tour. Why not take a Segway tour? The tour costs upwards of 35 Euros but this includes your English speaking guide, health and safety briefing, equipment and a whole lot of fun.
Parque de atracciones de Madrid –
If you want to check out some of the amusement parks Madrid has on offer, why not head to Parque de atracciones de Madrid. Located in the beautiful Casa de Campo park this amusement park has something for everyone. Be sure that you wear comfortable clothes as you are likely to get wet on the water rides.
Parque Warner –
If you are a fan of Warner Brothers and also enjoy riding roller coasters, why not head over to the Warner Brothers theme park? The park is located in the suburbs of Madrid close to Pinto.
The park is designed for everyone to enjoy. From thrill seekers to young children. If you plan on visiting this park make sure you wear comfortable clothes as you will get wet on the water rides.
Zoo of Madrid –
If you are not one for thrill seeking why not check out Madrid Zoo. Located in the beautiful surroundings of Casa de Campo. The zoo is home to many different species of land dwelling animals and mammals as well as aquatic ones! The zoo has daily shows which are included in the price of your ticket.
This fantastic shopping centre is located on the outskirts of Madrid in the municipality of Arroyomolinos. Within this shopping centre there is something for everyone. Shopping, bowling and the cinema are all on offer here. In addition, there is also an indoor ski slope with fresh snow!
This is one for those hot summer Madrid days. There are two water parks located in Madrid. These have something for everyone, from a VIP area to rides to suit all thrill seekers. Tickets for the Aquopolis cost 15 euros if bought in advance or 21 euros if bought on the day.
This is Madrid’s most popular market! El Rastro market is open every Sunday and public holiday of the year. With hundreds of people attending every week, you would be wise to arrive early if you want to grab a real bargain. This market is located between Lavapies and La Latina metro in Plaza de Cascorro.
Plaza de toros de las ventas
If you want to experience the Spanish tradition of bullfighting then Madrid has the beautiful bull ring known as Las Ventas. Although bullfighting does not happen all year round, it can be seen between March and October. The fights occur every Sunday. However, if you head to Las Ventas in May-June then bullfights happen everyday for 20 days.
