You submit in your own country and wait for the decision. You pay the remaining balance only once your visa is approved — you never pay in full for a trip you can't take yet.

Getting certified is the easy part. Getting hired in Madrid is what we prepare you for.
The Spanish Immersion programme combines practical teacher training in Madrid with Premium Job Support and a guaranteed paid teaching placement. We own Exam Madrid Academy, so we hire our own graduates first. We introduce you across 300+ partner schools. And where geography doesn't work, you teach online with us. Three routes, one result — which is why we can put a number on it.
A guaranteed paid teaching job — not just an introduction
Every graduate gets placed. We hire in our own academy first, introduce you across our 300+ partner schools in Madrid and the rest of Spain, and put you online if you settle outside the city. Your placement begins as soon as your work authorisation is in place — and we walk you through that paperwork too.
A teaching CV built for Spanish academies
Spanish academies read applications differently from employers back home. We help you present your experience, qualifications and strengths the way hiring managers here expect to see them.
A reference from a Madrid teacher-training centre
After successfully completing the course we can provide a recommendation letter to support applications to schools, academies or other education providers.
Teaching English online from Spain
We show you how to present your profile on online teaching platforms and plan a route towards private students — income that travels with you. Results vary by platform, experience and demand.
Teaching as an autónomo in Spain
We explain the common freelance routes and the practical questions to research before you invoice clients. Registration, immigration and tax requirements depend on where you live and work, and may require qualified advice.
How the Madrid teaching market actually works
Which roles you can realistically apply for, when academies hire, how to approach them, and how to build a plan around your profile and availability — not a generic job-hunting checklist.
Spanish Immersion, or Online TEFL + Visa.
Choose Spanish Immersion if you want online preparation followed by four weeks of practical TEFL training in Madrid and a full year of Spanish classes. Choose Online TEFL + Spain Visa if you prefer to complete your TEFL certification online before moving to Madrid.
The student-visa process is complex. We guide you step by step.
Can non-EU citizens teach English in Spain? Yes — when their immigration status authorises the work. This programme includes full guidance for your 1-year Spanish student-visa application. Work rights depend on the study category and the conditions of the authorisation granted. After arrival, we also guide you through the TIE and padrón process when applicable.
Non-EU citizens
Full guidance for a 1-year student-visa application. Work is not automatic for every study category; when authorised, it must be compatible with your studies and is generally limited to 30 hours per week.
EU citizens
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens do not need a student visa. We guide you through the registration steps applicable to your situation, including NIE and padrón.
Once you arrive
We guide you through TIE and empadronamiento after arrival. Requirements and deadlines depend on the length and conditions of your authorised stay.
The paperwork nobody warns you about — handled together.
Landing in a new country means an address, a bank account, a phone number and three trámites you've never heard of. You don't do any of it alone, and you don't do it in Spanish on your own.
Accommodation
Guidance on where to look, what a fair price is by neighbourhood, and how shared flats work in Madrid — before you sign anything.
Spanish bank account
Help opening an account once you arrive — the step that lets you pay rent, get paid and pass almost any online form in this country.
SIM card & local number
A Spanish mobile number in your first days — needed for appointments, banking and every verification code you'll receive.
Padrón & TIE
We guide you through empadronamiento and the TIE appointment after arrival. Requirements and deadlines depend on the conditions of your authorised stay.
Orientation for daily life
Transport passes, health insurance, where to buy what, how appointments work — the practical briefing you'd otherwise learn the hard way.
Someone to call
A real person in Madrid who has done this two thousand times — not a chatbot, not a form. For the whole year, not just week one.

Teaching English in Spain — everything you need to know.
Honest answers on visas, cost, salaries, Spanish and what life as a teacher in Madrid really looks like.
Can Americans and other non-EU citizens teach English in Spain?
Yes. Your programme includes a 1-year Spanish student visa and a 100% guaranteed paid teaching placement for non-EU students from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and beyond. We guide every document and handle your TIE and padrón. Under current Spanish rules, paid work must be compatible with the authorised studies and is generally limited to 30 hours per week. See our student visa requirements guide for more detail.
Do I need a degree to teach English in Spain?
No. You don't need a university degree or prior teaching experience. You need to be 18+, have a high-school diploma, and speak English at a strong (C1) level.
How much does the TEFL course in Spain cost?
€3,900, all-in. That covers your 120-hour accredited TEFL course, 1-year student visa, a full year of Spanish classes and a guaranteed paid placement. The payment plan is €800 to reserve your place, €1,100 before the course and the €2,000 balance once your visa is approved.
Do I need to speak Spanish before I start?
No. Many students arrive with zero Spanish. A full year of Spanish classes is built in, taking you from beginner to conversational (around B2) by the end of your year.
Is the paid teaching placement really guaranteed?
Yes. We own a working academy — Exam Madrid Academy — and partner with 300+ schools, so we place you, not just "help" you look. It's a 100% guaranteed paid placement.
How much do English teachers earn in Madrid?
Typical roles in our network pay €1,200–€1,600 a month for around 20–25 teaching hours per week, with the potential to earn more through private classes. Actual pay and monthly costs vary by contract type, schedule, accommodation and lifestyle.
Is the TEFL Course in Spain online or in Madrid, and how long does it take?
The programme begins with online preparation, followed by four weeks of practical, on-site TEFL training in Madrid. The complete programme spans one year, including your 1-year student visa and 12 months of Spanish classes.
Which TEFL course and visa route should I choose?
Choose this Spanish Immersion programme if you want online preparation, four weeks of practical TEFL training in Madrid and a full year of Spanish. Choose Online TEFL + Spain Visa if you prefer to complete your TEFL certification online before moving to Madrid.
Do you help with accommodation in Madrid?
Yes — with finding it, not with paying for it. Accommodation isn't part of the €3,900, and we'd rather say so plainly than have you arrive to a surprise. What you get is someone in Madrid who tells you which neighbourhoods to look in, what a fair monthly rent actually is, how shared flats and deposits work here, and which listings to walk away from — before you sign anything in a language you're still learning. Most of our teachers share a flat and pay between €400 and €650 a month.
Can non-native English speakers apply?
Yes. We welcome non-native speakers with a strong (C1+) level of English. Many of our most successful teachers are non-native speakers now teaching in Madrid.
Do I need teaching experience?
No. The course is designed for first-timers and includes 20+ observed classroom sessions, so you graduate classroom-ready and confident.
Is a TEFL course in Spain worth it?
With more than 15 years training and placing teachers from Madrid, an internationally accredited certificate, a guaranteed paid job and a 1-year visa, our teachers get a complete, low-risk path to living and teaching in Spain — not just a certificate.
