This section explains which cookies tefl-madrid.com uses, what each one is for, and how to change your mind at any point. It is written to be read, not to wear you down.

The short version: the cookies needed to keep the site working are always on, because without them there is no site. Everything else — analytics, advertising and personalisation — is only set if you accept it, and you can withdraw that at any time in one click.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Next time you visit, the site reads that file and "remembers" something: that you were already signed in, which language you were browsing in, or that you have been on this page before.

Cookies are not programs and cannot run anything on your device. But some of them can follow you between visits, and that is why the law requires us to ask before setting them.

Alongside cookies proper, this policy also covers equivalent technologies that store information on your device, such as local storage and tracking pixels.

Why we ask for your permission

Because three sets of rules require it, and they all say the same thing:

• Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) — we may only set non-essential cookies once you have given consent, after receiving clear information.
• The GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) — consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. A clear affirmative act.
• Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD), which implements the GDPR in Spain.

Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from that permission under Article 22.2 itself, because the service cannot be delivered without them. Those are the only ones active before you decide.

The categories we use

Strictly necessary Always on

They keep your session alive, store your choice about these very cookies, and protect our forms against spam and automated abuse. Most of the cookies on this site fall in this group: fourteen of them belong to our anti-spam filter and exist only to tell a real person from a bot. They cannot be used to profile you and do not require your permission.

Analytics Your permission required

They tell us which pages get read, how many people arrive and where from, so we know which content is worth improving. The reports we see are aggregated: we never see names or addresses.

Advertising Your permission required

They let us measure whether one of our campaigns brought you here, and avoid showing you the same ad over and over.

Personalisation Your permission required

They remember preferences between visits so we do not have to ask you twice.

This list was taken from the site itself on 26 August 2026, not from a template. Cookies are grouped by who sets them; durations are the maximum declared by each provider. Cookies marked Registered users only are never set for ordinary visitors.

Changing or withdrawing your consent

You can change your mind whenever you like, and doing so is as easy as accepting was. When you withdraw consent we delete the affected cookies from your browser. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

Your choice is stored for 24 months. After that we will ask again.

Deleting cookies in your browser

Independently of our panel, your browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from any site. Bear in mind that blocking all of them may stop parts of this site from working.

International transfers

Google, Omnisend and CleanTalk may process data outside the European Economic Area, principally in the United States.

Those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, found adequate by the European Commission on 10 July 2023, and otherwise on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Commission, together with the supplementary measures each provider declares it applies.

If you reject analytics and advertising cookies, no transfer arising from them takes place.

Your rights

The GDPR gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability over your personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the cookies we use, our providers or the applicable rules change. The date at the top always reflects the latest version. If a change affects the categories that require your permission, we will ask you again.
